The Arrival
Sunday, 2nd July, 2023
From Stockholm we travelled to Malmo, where you quickly cross from Sweden to Denmark via the Oresund Bridge. The 15.9km bridge is made up of three parts, bridge, tunnel and the artificial island of Pemberholmen. The bridge opened in 2000 and thousands of vehicles use it every day.
It was very windy driving all day and at the top of the bridge it was even more pronounced the effect that the buffeting of the gusty wind had on the Motorhome. We saw one very small teardrop style caravan going especially slow, obviously the driver was keenly aware of the wind pushing his van.
It is a very striking looking bridge, easily visible from quite a distance away.
The view at the start of the bridge, showing Denmark in the distance.
The middle of the bridge … I love bridge architecture.
The artificial island and entering the tunnel …
And now we are in Denmark!
