Canterbury

A day trip to Canterbury

Saturday, 13th May 2023.

Thought we’d go see the Canterbury Cathedral.  I know another cathedral! But since we were here.

Had a great day, good weather.  The Cathedral is enormous, you’d never really get the size unless you were there.

Even though the pictures are of the Cathedral, we spent the major part of the day looking around the old streets, having coffee, getting a hair cut, etc.

The tomb of King Henry IV, 1367-1413, and his wife Joan of Navarre.

Around the back of the Cathedral

Canterbury, High Street area Old Town

Sculpture of Geoffrey Chaucer and his pilgrims from his work The Canterbury Tales circa 1387.

Famous building, the Old Weavers House with the waters of the River Stour lapping its sides. You can do a river boat tour from here too.

And tomorrow on to Dover ... but that's a tale for another day.  The Dover Tales.
