Brighton

The next stop on the Perry’s Next Life is “Brighton”

Drive from Salisbury to Brighton - About a 2 hour drive.

Brighton

WOW. Didn’t expect Brighton to be so wow.   Great weather on the day, suns out with just a light cool breeze.

The Royal Pavilion

The Royal Pavilion……OMG, the most lavish spectacular building I’ve seen.   Built by King George IV over many years.  It ended up being a vast lavishly decorated seaside palace showing off his love of the Orient, even though he had never been there, it's decorations depicted his views on the Orient.  A must see for anyone coming this way.   The volume of pictures we took is huge, there is just so much to see and the size of some of the rooms you can barely get it in a picture.

Please see the next blog for all the photos of the Royal Pavilion.

Brighton Palace Pier

A must do if you’re here.  An iconic landmark.  It’s a long wide pier that is a side show alley all the way to the end.  Stopped off at a coffee shop about half way out (great coffee) and just watched the other tourists pass by.  It's starting to show it's age and looks a bit weary in the daylight.

Beach ….what beach…It’s 30mm river aggregate.

I360

The I360 is a sky tower, goes up 130 meters…great views along the whole coastline.  You can see all the way down to the Seven Sisters, which is the start of the chalk white cliffs. We did it because we’re here, but it’s just another sky tower.

Remains of the old burnt out pier.

One of the many Brighton laneways, full of arty shops and cafes.
