Trollstigen

Trollstigen is a switch back road, also known as “The Troll’s Road”. Checkout the size of the small guard rail and then it drops away to nothing. A magic drive.

Basically you go from sea level to 1400 meter, the ocean to ski fields.

We passed a full size tourist bus coming down, I was hard against the rail and there was nothing between us and the bus, but we made it.

In the switch back corners, you’re on hard lock and use the entire road to get around.

It was a lot of fun, and there was just so much to photo that Gill said she didn’t feel at all frightened because she was so busy capturing what was happening.

This is a must do in anyone’s life……one off the bucket list.

Change in Direction

So I’ve changed my mind again, We’ve decided not to do the big pull to the top of Norway, but instead spend our time seeing the sights we’re already close to. So we headed west to see the Atlantic Road.

The Atlantic Ocean Road

The Atlantic ocean road is a noted tourist drive that people rave about….and we now see why.! It was a yucky rain old day so our pictures didn’t come out the best, but views to very good. So much so I thinking of re-driving the 30 minutes. The first part of the road (on the right of the below pic) is a spring of small islands that they have built a road across. A very nice drive, when you consider that around very corner in Norway there is a great view.
